Miro Lite board is locked and not visible after I created an account

Hi,
I created a board using Miro Lite without an account. After 24 hours, the board became locked and shows this message:

“This board is locked. Boards created with Miro Lite are available for 1 week. Yours will be deleted in 5 days. Sign up for free to unlock it.”

I have now created a free Miro account, but the board is not visible in my dashboard. When I open the original board link, I still get the locked message.

What I already tried:

  • created a Miro account
  • logged in
  • checked the dashboard
  • but the board does not appear there

Is there any way to connect this Miro Lite board to my new account and recover the content before it gets deleted?

Many thanks!

Hi Julia,

It sounds like the Miro Lite board wasn't automatically associated with your new account when you signed up. In some cases, the board can only be claimed if you're logged into the same browser session or using the same device where the board was originally created.

A few things you can try:

  • Make sure you're logged into your Miro account and then open the original board link again.

  • Try accessing the board from the same browser and device you used to create it.

  • Clear your browser cache or try an incognito/private window while logged into your account.

  • Check whether you signed up using the same email address that may have been associated with the board creation process.

If the board still doesn't appear in your dashboard and remains locked, I'd recommend contacting Miro Support as soon as possible. Be sure to provide:

  • The board URL

  • The date the board was created

  • The email address associated with your new Miro account

Since the board is scheduled for deletion in a few days, support may be able to help recover or attach it to your account before it's removed.

Hopefully you're able to regain access to it!
