Make a Copy feature for viewers

I have a workshop like activity for my course that I have created in Miro. I would like my students to view the board and make a copy so that they can practice that activity. However, I was not able to find this feature after much research.

 

Is there any possibility to do this? or is it impossible?

@Dhivyesh - You can

  1. set a board’s Share settings to “Anyone with the link → Can view”
  2. set the board’s Content Copy permissions to “Anyone with the board access”
  3. share a link to the board
  4. the recipient opens the board, clicks on the board title/name, and uses the Duplicate action

@Dhivyesh - Another thing you could try – which I just learned about from @Paul Snedden – is to use the copyBoardId URL parameter.

 

How this could work…

  1. Looking at the board link I shared above: https://miro.com/app/board/o9J_lCxo-es=/
  1. The board Id would be: o9J_lCxo-es=
  1. Then, you would append it to this link: https://miro.com/app/?copyBoardId=
  1. For a final link of: https://miro.com/app/?copyBoardId=o9J_lCxo-es=

Anyone that clicks on that link would have the board be duplicated to their Miro account - one thing to note: If their Miro account profile is a member of more than one team, they may not be prompted as to which team space they would like the board to be duplicated, in which case it would be duplicated to the last team dashboard they were on.

Hey @Robert Johnson, I was trying out the first method you had suggested. In the permissions tab, I couldn’t see the ‘Anyone with the board access’ option. This was all I could see. (This account is in starter plan)

@Dhivyesh - Thanks for mentioning you are on a Starter Plan - this distinction helps.

Someone with the Team Admin role will need to update your team’s permissions to allow users outside of the team to be able to duplicate a board:
