LOGIN issues: can't login using password and MAGIC link logs out after a few minutes

The iPad app, macOS app and browser are all telling me that password login isn’t available and that I need to use a magic link instead.

I don’t currently have access to my email on my iPad, so I managed to log in to the desktop app using a magic link. Unfortunately, it then logged me out again after just a few minutes. I tried again with another magic link, with exactly the same result.

I’m now completely locked out for 60 minutes due to “too many” sign-in attempts --  I’m in the middle of teaching so this is all a bit frantic!

I’ve had to work around this by setting up a new account using Apple ID, finding my board link again, and then managing to log in briefly on my iPad using a magic link copied from the desktop. I requested editor access to my board from the new account, only for the original account to log me out again shortly afterwards.

I can see that there are also login issues reported on the status page. Could you let me know what the recommended workaround is while the password-login issue is being resolved? In particular, is there any way to avoid repeated magic-link attempts triggering the 60-minute lockout?

In my case it tells me to log in using MagicLink on my iPad, I open the email on the gmail app, the magic link opens chrome, and then it opens Miro on chrome! No, I want to use the Miro APP, not the website. When I go back to the app it only shows the magic link option, after trying too many times it also blocked me from trying again. What on the user experience is this?

Why was the option to log in with a username and password removed in the first place? It is extremely inconvenient.

To log into my account on my laptop, I now have to receive a login link by email. Since I use a corporate email address that is not Gmail, the email comes to my phone. I then have to forward it to my personal email address, open my personal email on my laptop, and only then can I click the login link and access my account.

This process is unnecessarily complicated and extremely inconvenient. A simple username-and-password login was much easier and more practical.

This user experience is a nightmare. I hate the magic link, it doesn’t work. Logs me into my browser on my ipad and won’t open or authenticate the app.

I’m in here, too. We got greylisting in our university servers, which means that mails are delayed in order to reduce spam and other unwanted mails. I cannot change that (and even if I could, I wouldn’t as it makes everything less secure). I also do not understand, why MIRO is claiming, that sending around unencrypted links in plain and open text messages by mail should be more secure than logging in an https site with a good password or even better passkey.

“MAGIC“ is an euphemism here 🙈 ...I’m struggling with your “magic” since the beginning and was so relieved to finally have a password to be able to log in easily. But since a couple of days, I cannot access any board from most devices, as the login just does not work for greylisting. If I finally see the mail and click the link, it’s expired.
