Hello All,

Does anyone here know if there is a limit on number of starred boards in Miro?

Scenario:

Few boards from licensed user accounts were shared with me for collaboration. I had marked these boards starred to make it easier for me to find and reference them. Lately i have observed that some of them automatically unstar them or even if they are starred they are not listed. Am I missing something here? Is there a limit on number of boards that can be starred or viewed?

Hi Pavi!

Thanks for your question!

There shouldn’t be a limit in the number of boards that you can mark as Starred. However, the boards can sometimes disappear from the Starred section because the board owner has stopped sharing them and made them private.

Hope it helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks Arina for your response!

My observation is that the board goes missing from the starred section, when i use the link to access the board( by searching through emails & chats where this board was shared) i can access it and its unstarred.

Hence, it made me think if there was limit as i have multiple boards that i have starred from different projects.

Hi Pavi!

Thanks for the follow-up!

I’m afraid I could not reproduce the issue - I was able to click on the links, and the boards remain starred while I was logged into my Miro profile. Could you please clarify if you were logged in when accessing the boards via a public link?

Please let me know if I’m missing anything here!

Hi Arina,

Thanks for your response!

Next time it occurs I can screen record it and share it.

@Pavi -

Can you provide an idea as to how many boards are starred?

Kiron

As soon as someone unshares the board, all Starred instances are removed.

Therefore, for example, I set a board to “Anyone with the link → Can edit”, share the link with you, you star the board. But the next day I flip “Anyone with the link” to “No access”. However, as I am clicking “No access”, I remember that access is still required, so I change it right back to “Can edit”--even in less than a second--then you will no longer see it in your starred boards.

@Kiron Bondale never thought of verifying by number of starred boards. Thanks for the hint.
Currently i have 14 boards listed under my starred boards.

@Robert Johnson interesting, this could be the reason too as i am not the board owner in many of the boards i am collaborating.

@Pavi -

I did a test in one of my teams and starred 18 boards. When I switched to the starred filter, all showed up in the dashboard so it doesn’t look like there’s any kind of a limit you are hitting. As such, it is more likely to be something else such as @Robert Johnson’s suggestion.

Kiron

Thanks @Kiron Bondale ! Yes I have the same opinion too.
I will verify this with the board owners.
