Hi
Just saw info about layers, and made a quick check. Thanks for enabling the feature.
Looks like a great start!
Looks like it’s currently not possible to set up different layer access rights for different users, am I right?

I’d like to be able to disable edit access to some layers for some users, and potentially also lock the possibility for some users to even see some layers. Product managers, for example, are the only ones who should be able to change certain things (on certain layers).

Hi there @ElvaMiro. I am on a free account at the moment because my workplace is just starting to dabble in Miro to see if it works for us.

I have a similar situation to @Anders Wahlborg:

  • My team is being asked to contribute ideas by using a specific Frame in a Board.
  • My boss wants me to have a block of Sticky Notes available for team members to lodge their ideas in that Frame, but she wants each team member to not be able to see each other’s contributions for now.
  • I am testing Layers to see if I can restrict each team member’s contribution to their own Layer and make the Default Layer the one where all the contributions can be seen only by me.
  • I have been made an Editor for the Board by the person who created it. I can Show and Hide the Layers but I can’t Lock any of them.

Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from anyone who can advise how I might be able to do this. Leah

@Leah Martin - There are no user-level permissions to layers - any board editor can view, edit, duplicate, hide, or inside any layer. Layers in their current state will not meet your needs.

The only way for editors to added sticky notes without other board editors being able to read the content would be to use the Private Mode feature which is only available on paid or education plans.
