Hello! I was doing storyboards for my film in Miro. When I came back to the site, I saw a sign warning about something related to "lack of association with anything" (unfortunately, I didn't have time to read what it said). And all my boards disappeared, except for the one created in 2022 (I don't remember if it was there).

I had VPN enabled. It looks like I had some old backup loaded. How do I get it all back?

Hi @Gunslinger88

Thanks for reaching out — that definitely sounds confusing and frustrating, especially with important work like your film storyboards. To help investigate, could you share a bit more detail?

When you saw the warning about “lack of association with anything,” was it possibly related to:

  • A team or workspace being deleted?

  • Being signed out or signed in to a different Miro account (maybe due to VPN)?

  • A message like “You are no longer a member of this team”?

Also:

  • Were you using Miro for free, or are you (or were you) part of a paid plan?

  • Do you remember the email associated with the boards you created?

  • Are you seeing any boards at all under “All Boards,” or does it look like a brand new account?

If you're using a VPN, it’s possible that you may have accessed Miro under a different account (especially if a different login autofilled). You might try signing out and logging back in manually with your usual email.

If you're still stuck, I’d recommend contacting Miro Support directly — they’ll be able to securely check your account and see if any boards can be recovered.

Let me know if you’d like help walking through the steps.

I will answer in order:- There is no team, I had many boards, different ones. I haven't been to Miro for a long time and I didn't even remember that they existed.- I refreshed the page after I turned on the computer.- Sorry, I don't remember, but it could well be.- free- kino.kmetr@gmail.com- the main menu looks like everything has been rolled back, an old backup. Because my mind map for 2022 is still there.

Could you, as an administrator, just look at my trash can? On my plane, it's impossible. At least to understand if there's something useful there?

Hi @Gunslinger88,

Thanks for the extra details — it does sound like the account may have reverted to an older state or logged in under a different session.

Since this situation involves potential data recovery and needs a backend check, I’ve gone ahead and converted your post into a support ticket. Our support team will be able to securely check your account and look into the Trash and any board history that might be recoverable.

Please keep an eye on your inbox for a message from the team soon. Hoping we can get your storyboards back for you!

Thanks a lot!
