Hello everyone,

I am using the Free Plan in Miro, which allows up to three boards. Currently, I have two boards that I actively use, and a third board that I transferred to another owner and no longer need. However, the board is still showing in my list, and I can't remove it or leave it. The options to "Leave" or "Delete" are not available.

This is taking up one of the three available slots for boards in the Free Plan. Is there any way to completely remove this board from my account so that I can use the free slot for another board?

I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to resolve this.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Michal

 Hi @bergmann.michal1,

Thanks for reaching out!

The reason why the board is still in your dashboard even after changing the owner is because the board is stored in your team. Please note that the board is attached to teams not to profiles.

To “remove” the board from your view, you may ask the new owner to set up a their own team, and move the board there.

In the meantime, you may change your dashboard filter to Owned by me so the boards that will show up are the ones you own.

Hope this helps!

Hello Eca,

Thank you for your response and clarification regarding the team and board ownership.

I understand that the board is still connected to my team even though I am no longer the owner. I was wondering if there is any alternative way to leave this team or disconnect the board from my account without relying on the new owner.

My main concern is that this "frozen" board is occupying one of my three available slots under the Free Plan, preventing me from fully utilizing my account. I would greatly appreciate any advice or workaround to free up this slot and regain the ability to use three boards.

Thank you for your assistance!

Best regards,
Michal

@bergmann.michal1 - Without asking fifty questions to dig into the configuration of your team or the other party’s set up, you could take control of the situation by either:

  1. Create a new Free Plan team – You could could do this using another email address, then add your current/mail email as a team member, move any boards you want to keep copies of from your current free plan team to the new team, make the new email address/user ad admin, and then leave the old team – more detailed steps here: https://community.miro.com/inspiration-and-connection-67/article-taking-back-control-of-your-free-plan-team-7706
  2. Create a new paid Starter team for one month for $10. Then, move your boards to the new paid team, and leave the old them. Then cancel your subscription before it renews (at which point you’d need to manually downgrade to free once the subscription expires!). Do not upgrade your current free plan as you are not the only team member. Instead, just go to https://miro.com/pricing/ and buy the Starter plan - and when prompted, do not upgrade - instead, Create a new paid team:
