Incorrectly locking boards because it says I've maxxed out the free limit when I only have one board.

I am the only member of my team. I only have one board. However, I’m getting a message that I have exceeded my free plan’s limit, and now my board is locked. Why is this happening?

I have one board only and no other users or shared link recipients, but I am receiving a View Only based error saying I’ve reaching my Free Plan limit - only the 3 most recent boards are editable. I’m confused by this locking process as I only have one board. Can someone help me remedy this so I can complete the project I’m working on. I can’t make a positive case for future subscription on a program that has a bug during the trial process.

I’m having the same issue. I only have one board, and now all my work is view only.

Although you only have one board, it's possible that you're seeing this message because the team where the board is stored has already reached the Free plan limit.

 

Please note that boards are stored within a team, not directly within a user profile. As outlined in the Help Center:

Only the 3 most recently created boards in a Free team are available for editing and collaboration. Any additional boards become inactive and are locked in view-only mode.

To edit inactive boards, you can:

  • Delete unnecessary active boards (or ask other team members to do so)

  • Create a copy of an inactive board

  • Upgrade the team

I only have myself and one board on my Team. This is not an issue with other Team members making boards. I see many others posts with this same issue, so I think it’s a Miro problem, not a Team member limit problem. 

I hadn’t downgraded my account. I hadn’t moved the board. The link sent above is also not applicable to this problem. To have my board locked within two days of making it during a trial period is not an encouraging sign to make me want to keep using this service.
