I just pasted a YouTube video into my board, and instead of it showing in a normal ‘link box’ (with the title and thumbnail). Now it has a button to go to focus mode, I think this is called an IFrame??
But what I hate about this, when I zoom out it shows a large YouTube button that keeps getting bigger. I don’t care about that YouTube video right now, why is it trying it’s best to get my attention?! I could see this getting extremely frustrating when I have 50+ YouTube videos and other things linked in my board, and they all take up space when zooming out, I can’t even get an overview of my board anymore. The timeline does the same thing, I know where my timeline is, I don't need a giant Icon and label telling me it’s still there. There should be an option to set the default paste back to the normal style, and also just to turn these buttons off when not necessary.

Thanks for raising this, ​@Roel204. What you're seeing is expected behavior for interactive embeds (iFrames) in Miro — this includes content like YouTube videos and the Timeline widget. These objects automatically display labels and buttons (like “Timeline” or the YouTube logo with a focus mode option) which grow larger as you zoom out. At the moment, there’s no button to disable these banners.

 

 As a workaround, consider placing them within a frame so there’s no embed label.

 

 

If this behavior is impacting your workflow, I’d suggest sharing this directly on the Miro Wish List, where the product team tracks feature requests. You can include a note about preferring either the old-style YouTube previews or the ability to turn off scaling banners and focus buttons entirely.
