Question

How essential is Miro to your user research or design team?

Hi everyone,

Our IT department has decided to decommission Miro as an enterprise service because it is considered a “nice-to-have” rather than an essential tool. They have suggested replacing it with a combination of several other tools (that do not add up to the functionality).

Our User Insights and Design teams are building a business case to demonstrate Miro’s essential role in our work and to show that it is a widely used platform for user research and design, not simply a tool we happen to prefer in this organization.

I’m looking for real-world examples from in-house or consulting teams working in user research, UX, customer insights, or design.

I’d love to hear:

  • What do you use Miro for, and what did your workflow look like before Miro?
  • Why did you start using it, and what value or improvements did you gain?
  • What would your team lose if Miro were replaced by several separate tools?
  • How would not having Miro impact your project resource allocation (people and time)?
  • What can Miro do better than that combination of tools?
  • Do you have any concrete before-and-after examples, outcomes, or metrics that demonstrate its value?

Honest experiences are very welcome, including challenges or cases where Miro was not essential. Your input will help us build an evidence-based case for whether Miro is genuinely replaceable or a critical part of our research and design workflow.

Thank you!

(NOTE: I have no affiliation to Miro, but I have been a happy user since 2020)

Hi @Mariana Helguera Martinez

Thanks for sharing this! This sounds like a great discussion for the community, especially given the range of use cases you’re looking to hear about. Hopefully users can share their experiences, workflows, and concrete examples of the value Miro brings to their organizations.

Looking forward to seeing the community’s insights!
