As it says, I don’t want my users to ‘trial’ Miro - we have licenses and we (IT) assign and unassign them according to an internal request/approval process.

How do I turn off the ability for users to undertake a trial??

Hi @Bryan Wass, welcome to the community!

Great question — and totally understandable that you'd want to manage access centrally.

At the moment, there isn’t a native setting to globally disable trials for Free Restricted users. If a user doesn’t have a paid license but clicks on features that are part of paid plans, they may be prompted to start a trial on their own.

If you’re managing Miro through centralized IT provisioning, here are a couple of steps you can take:

  1. Use Domain Control (Business Plan and above)
This lets you enforce organization-wide settings — including limiting who can join your Miro organization, and setting license auto-assignment rules.
  1. Prevent Self-Upgrade via Support
You can contact Miro Support and request a backend restriction on trial initiation for Free Restricted users in your org.

Let me know if you'd like additional help!

Thanks Eca,

That was very helpful - I’ll reach out to Miro Support now.

Kind regards,

Bryan
