Hi,

I left a team no knowing that the boards I created where on this team. Because I left the team the boards are now gone too. I know the name of the team- but I dont know who created it- how can I get back into the team to get to my boards? I woud loose a lot of work if I lost them.

thanks in advance

Emma

Hi @Emmi B, thanks for reaching out — I understand how stressful that must feel!

In Miro, boards are tied to the team where they were created, not to individual user profiles. So if you've left or were removed from a team, your access to all boards on that team (including ones you created) is removed too.

Here’s what you can do:
Try to recall any teammates or admins who were part of that team — if you can contact them, they may be able to re-invite you so you can regain access to your boards.

If you don’t know who created the team and no one else comes to mind, you can also check any old invitation emails from Miro related to that team.

Hi

I cannot find an invitation link and I dont remember how I even got into this Team. Is there no other possible way to find this team again? Like a history of teams I was in that I could look at? Or a paper bin, reset button?

All I have are old emails giving me a weekly digest/update of the board- but they stop coming in dec 2024. Is it possible this board has been deleted even while my boards where still intact and used by me?

thanks in advance

Hi again @Emmi B — thank you for the update, and I really feel for you in this situation.

Unfortunately, Miro doesn't currently offer a personal history of all the teams you’ve been part of, nor a way to “undelete” access after leaving a team on your own. There’s no “paper bin” or reset option to bring back access to boards you created under that team, since they're stored within the team’s workspace — not your personal Miro space.

If you’re still receiving (or have saved) weekly digest emails from Miro, those can sometimes contain links to the board or at least the team name. Even though the emails stopped in December 2024, it may be worth opening one and checking:

  • The team name mentioned in the email header or footer

  • The sender’s email address — sometimes it includes the team ID or admin contact

  • Any clickable board links (if they still work, they might prompt a re-request for access)

Regarding deletion: it’s possible the team or board was deleted by the Admin, especially if it was inactive or on a free plan that expired. However, if the board was actively being used after December and just recently became inaccessible after you left the team, it’s more likely that the content still exists — it’s just behind that team access wall.

You might try:

  • Searching your inbox for emails from noreply@miro.com or containing the board name (if you remember it)

  • Hovering over any old board links to see the team URL structure (e.g., https://miro.com/app/board/o9J_abc123=)

  • Clicking an old board link to see if it prompts a “request access” page — if so, sending that request might alert the current team admin

Lastly, if you still can’t find any leads, I’d recommend reaching out to Miro Support directly with as much info as possible — especially the team name, any known board URLs, and copies of the digest emails. They may be able to identify the workspace owner or give you confirmation about the team’s status.

Hope this helps
