I am struggling to get the line to touch the decision shape.  The arrow is linked to the shape however they do not touch.

Example image, arrow does not touch decision shape despite being linked.

Hi @Cole Mefford thanks for reaching out!

You should be able to achieve your goal by following the steps below:

  1. Select the line.

  2. Click and drag the white endpoint dot.

  3. Move it slightly until you see it snap to the edge of the shape — it will look like it's magnetically sticking to the same dot.

  4. Release when it snaps — this ensures a flush connection with no visible gap.

Let me know if it’s still giving you trouble and I’d be happy to walk you through it further!

@Cole Mefford I can confirm that you are doing nothing wrong and that there are definitely inconsistencies between various shape pack objects. For example, the arrow joins the decision shape at different locations:

I’d recommend that you leave your feedback for the diagramming product team in the form of a Wish List idea post by following the guidelines here: Wish List: Everything You Need to Know.

If you do create a Wish List Idea post, I would also recommend that you post a link to it back here, so that future readers of this post can quickly get to and vote for your Idea.

HI @Cole Mefford

OOOPS - Just saw an answer came in above - I need to refresh my browser more often! FWIW :-)

I think the posts above - although well-meaning - have missed your point. You are CORRECT - when using the decision shape that is part of the “Flowchart” collection of shapes, the arrow WILL NOT TOUCH THE SHAPE. Here is what it looks like:

The anchor points (little white circles) are not on the shape itself but just outside the shape.

I think the only workaround I can see is for you to use a decision diamond from a different set of shapes, for example the BPMN gateway brings the arrow a bit closer to the diamond:

But the good old “diamond” in the “Basic Shapes” -- as shown above -- will bring it perfectly into contact.

Hope this helps!
