Free plan with only one board - but board can no longer be edited after switching back from Starter to Free plan

Hello.  

I have a “free plan” and I am using only one board - however, last year I changed to a Starter Plan for a while which I now cancelled. 

Ever since I did this - and switched to “free” I can no longer edit my one and only board:

 

As you can see I only have on board in this team (i.e. ClubCulturCH)

But when I try to edit it, this pops up:
 

Can anyone help me with this`​​​​​? Are there any “hidden boards” around I don’t know of - or does Miro simply make a mistake here?

​@Bjørn Schaeffner Your scenario of paid/trial-subscription-back-to-free is what caused the board to be in the  View only  state. And, the wording “View only” is rather misleading as it is actually considered to be “locked”.

How did my board get into this state?

This can happen because paid/education plans support private boards, but Free Plan teams do not. So, if a board is private while in a paid subscription, when that subscription is downgraded back to Free, the board remains “private”, i.e., Team access = No access. And because Free plan teams do not support private boards, everyone can see the board, but no one (including the owner) can edit the board.

Unlocking the board by changing the board’s Team Access

1. From the Share settings, select Manage access*:

   

2. And then change the team access from No access to Edit:

   

*Don’t have the “Manage access” option?

If you are the only member in the team, then you will not see the option to change the team permissions from No access to Edit  - this is a gap in the current board sharing logic. More on this (and how to get around it) here:

If there are no other members in your team, you’ll see:

To get around this quickly, you can invite any fake email address to your team, e.g., fakeemailshdfsdf@fakedomaintest.com

Once you’ve done this, when you go back to the board share settings you’ll see:

Then change the team access from No access to Editor:

Your board should now be unlocked :)
