We have a board that we would like to share with customers that uses the Flip Cards (Which are amazing!!) , however, if we share the board in View Only with our customers this flip action cannot be used? What is my best option here to get this working but to not allow customers to change the board content?

Hi

@Janine Wright

I see that when the user is login as guest,it  might to be viewing only,so I expect that login as customers and by accounts, this give him/her to change the board.

With respect

Hi @Janine Wright, thanks for reaching out!

The flip action only works for editors on a board. View-only users aren’t able to interact with the flip function, which is why it’s not working when you share the board in “View only” mode. If you’d like customers to be able to flip the cards, you’d need to allow them editor access.

But, If you’d like customers to be able to flip the cards without changing the board content, here are a couple of options:

  • Share as Commenter: Give customers commenter access. Commenters can interact with certain objects but cannot move or edit board content.

  • Export Alternative: If interaction isn’t critical, you could export the board content (e.g., as PDF or image) for them to review, though this won’t support flipping.

I’d recommend trying the Commenter role, as that’s the closest balance between interaction and content protection.

Thank you, I have shared link as a commentator, but people with the link can comment and still cannot flip?

Hi @Janine Wright

Thanks so much for testing that out and for pointing this out — and apologies for the confusion in my earlier suggestion! The Commenter role allows users to leave comments on objects, but it does not give them the ability to edit or interact with objects, including flipping cards. At the moment, the flip action is only available to Editors on a board. If you’d like customers to be able to flip the cards themselves, they’ll need editor access.

Thanks again for flagging this, and I’m sorry for the earlier misdirection.
