My colleague would like to recover a board (in the free version) which is locked. is it possible to switch the locked board with another one that is still available so he can export it?

Hi @mmatthiessen, welcome to the Miro Community!

In the Free Plan, you’re limited to 3 editable boards per team. When a fourth board is created, one of the others becomes view-only (what we call “locked”) — but it’s still accessible for viewing and exporting.

Here’s what your colleague can do:

  • Open the locked board

  • Click the export options (top-left menu or use the three-dot menu on the board preview)

    • They can choose to export it as a PDF, image, or CSV depending on what’s on the board.

✅ You don’t need to delete or switch boards to export — exporting can be done from any view-only board.

If they’d like to edit the board again, they can either:

  • Delete or archive another board to free up an editable slot, or

  • Consider upgrading to a paid plan for unlimited editable boards.

Hope this helps!
