Engage activities: let participants go through activities at their own pace

Hello,

I'm using Miro's “Engage activities” to interact with participants: I ask them some e.g. Open-ended questions, let them do a ranking and ask multiple choice question. I want the participants to go through these activities at their own speed. It seems that the pace is set by the facilitator: the facilitator decided to go to the next slide/activity. Is there a workaround for this? (in Mentimeter this is possible).

Hi @Jan Koster,

Thanks for reaching out!

Just to clarify, are you looking for a way for participants to manage the activities themselves, rather than having the facilitator control when the group moves to the next activity?

According to our Help Center, Engage activities can be managed by board editors, while all users can participate. So, if one of the participants is given board editor access, they should be able to manage the activities themselves. Please note that this functionality is available on the Business, Enterprise, and Education plans.

If this isn't quite the workflow you're looking for, could you share a bit more about how you'd like participants to progress through the activities?

Hi Eca,

What I want to achieve: During a session with participants who don't have access yet to Miro I share the first slide of the engage activity with the 6 digit code and the QR code. At that moment they have access to the Miro board. Next step is that the participants need to go through a few Engage Activities on their mobile device as I want to collect their feedback. If they are finished with the first activity (e.g. answer a multiple choice question) I want them to move to the next acitivity. It seems that I (as the facilitator and owner of the Miro board) need to go to the next activity in order to make it visible on their mobile device. With other words: I set the pace for them, but I want them to go through the activities at their own pace.

I have tried your advice: I have shared the board with “Anyone with the link” and set the Manage access to “Editor". However as a participant I steel need to wait for the facilitator/board owner to proceed to the next slide.
