This can happen if:

• The board is in view-only mode and you don’t have edit rights.

• There’s a browser or app glitch where focus is stuck on the title field.

• A stuck keyboard/mouse input or touchscreen tap is triggering title edit mode.

• The board is locked due to permissions or settings.

Could you check and confirm:

• Are you the board owner or do you have full edit permissions?

• Does the same thing happen in a different browser or in the Miro mobile/desktop app?

• Is the behavior the same on other boards, or only this one?

• If you click anywhere on the canvas before typing, does it still change the title?

If possible, please share a short screen recording so I can see the exact behavior and try to reproduce it.

Yes, I am the owner of the board and have permission to edit it. This issue is not just with one board, but with all of them. If I click anywhere on the canvas before typing, it still changes the title.

I followed your advice and tried opening Miro in Google chrome, and everything works there. I hope it will start working in Safari (on Mac) over time. Thanks again!

i’m experiencing the same issue which doesn’t happen when I open the board in a private window - without a sign-in

but with my sign-in, the problem occurs again.

I’m so relieved I’ve found this exchange! I’ve been having the same issue—when I try to add or edit any text on ANY of the boards, it changes the board title. It’s been happening for over a week. I tried Miro app (I’m on iPad) as well as Safari and Chrome. I also tried private mode. Nothing helps. What’s more, my collaborator (who’s using Mac) has been having the same issue on the board we share. It’s important to note that I do have full editing rights and most boards I’ve even created myself. Screen recording
