On the Business Plan, only full members occupy paid seats. However, if you want to collaborate without assigning a full license, you can invite users as guests instead.

Guests can:

• Access boards they're explicitly invited to

• View, comment, and even edit (if given permission)

• Join without consuming a paid seat

Just make sure you're sharing individual boards with them via email and setting the correct access level. This is a great way to collaborate with clients, students, or external partners without increasing your license count.
