Croping my cover picture to fit the frame. Can I do that?

When you do a “Change cover”, it prompts you for an image file. So long as the image file itself is cropped to your preferences, it should upload correctly. I’ve tried with a few different sized and shaped images and they all seem to load correct.

Can you provide more details such as:

1. Are you doing the change cover from the Miro dashboard or somewhere else?
2. What are the dimensions of the image you are trying to load?

Hi Kiron, Thanks for the ideas. I am loading it from my computer. I used Snipping Tool to save it and when I look at the demesions it says i tis 724x274 pixels. However, I used “Paint” to reduce the size and it sill doesn’t fit my Cover properly. It looks exactly the same as before. Sorry I’m no expert with this so I am a bit lost as to what I need to do. I have other images that are 868x872 but they fit perfecly!? See below. 

This one above is 868x872 but fits nicely. 

This one below is 724x274 and looks like this….

I reduced the size to 520x200 and it looks like this above. 

This is the image that I want to have on my Cover

Any suggestions?

I downloaded the image you wanted to use and got the same result as you. So it does look like Miro is expecting a certain height to width aspect ratio for these images. 

Couple of thoughts:

1. As the image is being cropped horizontally, you may want to add a bunch of white space above and below the image (using Paint or something similar) so it becomes a little more squarish and then import that image.
2. You could open up a Miro support request here to find out what the expected dimensions or aspect ratio are and then scale the image accordingly: Submit a request – Miro Support & Help Center

Hi Kiron, Thanks that was it. If I “Snip” the image with some room around it, it fits. It’s a bit of trial and error but I can live with that. Cheers. James
