My board consists of multiple flowcharts representing user journeys. It is fairly large and it is becoming slow. I came across this “Create diagram” button. I am considering creating a diagram for each flowchart.

Are the “diagrams objects” more or less performant than having all objects on the board?

HI @Wilson Silva, great question!

When you use the “Create diagram” option, Miro organizes your shapes inside a frame and recognizes it as a diagram object. You can still edit the shapes and connectors just like any other object — it doesn’t restrict functionality.

In terms of performance, using diagram objects can help structure and group content more efficiently, which may slightly improve board responsiveness — especially on large boards. However, overall performance still depends on the total number of objects and frames on the board.

If you’re seeing noticeable lag, consider:

  • Splitting journeys across multiple boards

  • Minimizing high-resolution images or widgets

  • Using frames to segment content cleanly

Hope this helps!
