Copyright and Permission to publish materials created in Miro in research publications

I want to publish a screenshot of a miro board that I created in a publication (it is a dissertation and will not be published via publishers like Springer, but through my university library). I used basic features of Miro like rectangles and arrows and lines. Do I need to attribute Miro? Thank you very much.

Hi @hpark

Super question. Sadly, I don’t know. But this paragraph from the Terms of Service sort of hints that some things belong to Miro - but icons are not mentioned specifically:

“...Except for Customer’s use rights in this Agreement, Miro and its licensors retain all intellectual property and other rights in the Service, any Technical Services deliverables and related Miro technology, templates, formats and dashboards, including any modifications or improvements to these items made by Miro. ...”
