Hi 🤗,

I have a big problem. I was using a student account, that expired. When I renewed it, I could step in miro again, but my created boards are gone - I was the owner of the boards -   - do you have an idea what I can do?

Thanks for reaching out! I understand how concerning it must be to not see your boards after renewing your account. Let’s try a few steps to recover them.

 

First, can you check if:

  • You’re logged in with the exact same email address as before? Sometimes, Miro accounts can be created with multiple emails, which can lead to boards being saved under a different account.
  • You have any notifications or emails from Miro that may mention where your boards are saved, especially any related to your account renewal?

 

If those don’t help, you might want to reach out to Miro Support directly, as they can assist with account recovery in case of expired student plans. And please share the following info with them to help with the investigation:
- Board name
- Board URL link
- Team name where the board was stored

Maybe one question …. In the meanwhile I created a board with the new email I scribed in … do I have any chance to get this board under the other/old/origin user address?

Great question! 😊 Yes, you can transfer the board you created under the new email to your original account. To do this, you’ll need to invite your original email address to the board as an editor, then log in with your original account and duplicate the board to save a copy under your old account.

Here’s how:

  1. While logged in with your new email, open the board and click Share.
  2. Invite your original email as an editor.
  3. Log out, then log back in with your original account and go to the board.
  4. Once there, you can duplicate it to store a copy in your original account’s boards list.
