can you blur a part of an image to protect sensitive info?

I’m copying and pasting a lot of screenshots to my Miro boards and it would be nice to just blur the sections that have the tester’s name on them rather than put a black box.

HI @ahgiardello, thanks for reaching out!

At the moment, Miro doesn’t support blurring parts of an image natively. The usual workaround is still to cover the sensitive area with a shape (like a rectangle) and place it on top of the image. You can adjust the color and opacity to make it a bit less harsh than a solid black box, but true blur isn’t available yet.

Common workarounds:

  • Blur the image (or just the name) in an external tool before uploading it to Miro

  • Use a semi-transparent shape over the text to soften it visually

  • Crop the image if the sensitive area isn’t needed at all
