Note that if you do upgrade and create a bunch of boards/projects/etc., once the trial is over any more than your allotted free plan editable boards will all become locked/unavailable.
If you are unable to trigger the prompt for a trial and have not had a trial in the past, I would suggest asking Miro directly about this by reaching out to the Miro Customer Support team via this special form.
