Thank you for sharing the details of your setup! It sounds like a frustrating experience, and I'd like to help you get this resolved.
Have you already tried the steps outlined in this troubleshooting guide? If not, I recommend starting with:
Clearing your browser cache and cookies to see if that resolves the issue.
Trying an incognito window or another browser to rule out browser-specific issues.
Disabling extensions temporarily, as some could interfere with keyboard shortcuts.
If the issue persists after these steps, it would be helpful to record the behavior (e.g., using Loom) and share it with Miro Support through their report form. Providing as much detail as possible—like timestamps and specific actions—can help the team identify and resolve the problem faster.
I haven’t experienced this type of inconsistent behavior myself over the past year and a quarter of using Miro almost daily but if you find that it is becoming a reproducible issue then I’d recommend recording a Loom video (or similar capture) of it and contacting Miro support here: Submit a request – Miro Support & Help Center
Seen this also and also occurs in a disastrous way when pasting too much text into a text box causing MIRO to remove text then not being able to restore unless you have a backup copy of the board that you can go and get the text from.
Also Undo button does not work at all when making edits in the Text Box.
So #1 if you inadvertently exceed the text box limit by pasting into it you cannot in most cases undo the action after Miro trims and removes text at it’s own discretion.
#2 when adding text and then you hit undo it undoes the previous operation not the text added and sometimes will remove all of the current added text sometimes not but when hitting redo the button may or may not be available and does not always redo what was just removed.
I went looking in the “Board History” option, and there were a bunch of other inconsistencies: Text boxes deleted weeks ago were back in the board, actions taken long ago were presented as recent, etc.
Takeaway: the undo feature is inconsistent: watch out for long work hours without backup...
+1 to inconsistent undo functionality. Occasionally (enough to be a problem), I will paste something on the page, it lands somewhere I don’t like, so I try to undo, but the pasted content remains. If I keep hitting undo, Miro starts undoing things prior to my pasting, yet the pasted content remains. I have to manually delete it.

I was trying to CMD+Z to undo in a Miro board someone shared with me. However that never worked.
My expectation was to use the CMD+Z to undo and CMD+SHIFT+Z to re-do.
This functionality is quite important as a little mouse malfunction may move the elements around and you must be quickly able to revert when working with a team.
In Miro both trackpad and mouse (auto mode) was the setting I had. Couldn’t find anything else to fix this issue myself.
Any action to resolve this matter once and for-all is much appreciated.
I think this may start happening after a few hours when you are on the free plan. First the undo function became inconsistent and then all my work disappeared! Upgrading to the starter plan fixed everything. Fingers crossed this has fixed these problems into the future!
I was thinking about recomending this to my company to use it for schetching the diagrams, but we constantly will do CTRL+Z and this causes everyone to suffer what they did. Somehow the functionality was not implemented correctly.

I have the same issue on both browser and desktop versions.
It started couple of weeks ago. Cleaning app cache didn’t help, but it helps when I uninstall it (desktop). It worked for 2-3 days and then happened again. Now it happens every day so its pretty annoying as Miro is one of my main tools and I have to uninstall it every day.
In addition to not being able to copy, paste, reverse it also doesn’t work to, move within text with arrows and delete text letter by letter (if I highlight and click delete then it deletes it).
If you have any recommendations on what else I can do to fix it, please let me know.
Thanks for trying the recommended steps. Since the issue still persists, I have your comment converted into a support ticket so it can be investigated by supports. Please wait for their response in your inbox.
I experience this DAILY when I try to use “undo” on an edit I made to a table. It is very disheartening. I even reached out to Miro and was told there was no fix in the near-term future. :( Request #790372
I hear you—it’s frustrating when undo doesn’t work as expected, especially with tables. Since you’ve already contacted Miro Support and they’ve confirmed there’s no near-term fix, I’d recommend upvoting or tracking any related feature requests in the Miro Wish List:
