Bug: Consistantly losing updates to text.

For weeks now I have been plagued by an issue when entering text into one of our boards.

I will type at length, then suddenly I am looking at the text from 5-10 minutes prior! All the changes I have made gone in an instant.

I believe this is an issue with connectivity with Miro’s servers; if connection is lost, Miro will attempt to re-connect, and overwrites any changes that haven’t been synced to the server.

Although I have now gotten into the habit of entering text, clicking off the shape/field to allow an update to be pushed to the server (hopefully???), before continuing. Didn’t seem to help just now

I’ve lost a lot of progress due to this bug over the weeks.

I can only confirm this is occuring with text, it’s the only element where I’ll be “in the process” of editing for any period of time.

I used to be a subscriber with another team, and was considering upgrading to a paid subscription for my own team, but if something as bare-bones simple as “checking for conflicts” isn’t in the app. No way at all, I’ll use another service better suited for our needs.

I hate having to re-write the same content.

HI @Basil_D, thanks for reaching out!

What you’re describing definitely does not sound like expected behavior.

Could you please share the following information to help with investigation:

  • whether this happens on a specific board or across multiple boards,
  • your browser/app version and OS,
  • whether other collaborators are experiencing the same issue,
  • and ideally a short screen recording if you’re able to capture the behavior.

You may also want to check if the issue persists:

  • in an incognito/private browser window,
  • after disabling browser extensions,
  • or in another browser/app entirely.

I understand how frustrating it is to repeatedly lose text edits, especially during longer writing sessions. The additional details above should help the team investigate possible syncing or conflict-related issues more effectively.
