Billing

Hello all,

I’ve read up about the billing for miro! Lately I have reduced the amount of Admins/Members within our company so our billing should cost less. Is billing also influenced/ effected by anything else such as how many boards are created. If anyone has any deeper insight to the variables of billing please let me know!

Many thanks in advance,

Hi @Evie Caldwell,

Thanks for reaching out!

You're right that the number of Admins/Members affects your billing. However, the number of boards created does not influence billing—Miro charges based on the number of active paid seats, not the volume of content.

Since you mentioned reducing seats and have more questions about billing, I’ll go ahead and convert your post into a support ticket so the billing team can review your account specifics and assist you further.

Hi Eca,

Great thank you so much that would be super helpful! As our billing appears quite consistent and I just want to understand what each aspect for billing is and how it works! What are active paid seats? what does that look like?

Would love more details thank you

Hi @Evie Caldwell— happy to break this down a bit more!

Active paid seats refer to the number of users (members or admins) who are part of your Miro team and assigned to a paid seat. These are the individuals who have full access to create, edit, and collaborate on boards. Miro bills based on the number of these paid users, regardless of how many boards they create or how active they are.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Guests and visitors (those who don’t have full team membership) are not counted as paid seats.

  • Simply reducing someone’s access to a board (without fully removing them from the team) won’t reduce your bill—you’d need to remove them from the team in Team settings > Active users to free up their seat.

  • Once removed, their seat becomes available and can be reassigned to someone else, or removed entirely to lower costs.

Since your post was converted to a support ticket, the billing team will be able to give you a full breakdown based on your actual setup and help optimize your billing if needed. Keep an eye on your inbox—they’ll be in touch!

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with.
