Hello,
Could you please tell me how to attach a file to a mind map node?

I understand that Miro doesn't offer the option to add notes or additional text to a node. I find this feature extremely useful — but fair enough, Miro isn’t primarily a mind mapping tool.

However, being able to attach files to nodes is crucial for making mind maps truly usable.

If this feature isn’t available, I hope it will be added soon...

Just to confirm — are you looking for a way to attach a file (like a PDF or image) directly into a mind map node, similar to how you might attach a file to a sticky note or comment?

At the moment, Miro’s mind map nodes don’t support attachments or rich content like notes, links, or files directly inside them. I understand how useful that would be, especially for organizing detailed ideas or references within a map.

 

In the meantime, a possible workaround is to:

  • Add the file next to the mind map node on the board.

  • Use a line or arrow to visually link it to the node.

  • Or group them together to keep the context clear.

If this is something you'd like to see added, I’d recommend posting it to the Miro Wish List!
