Question

Added to an organization without my consent??!?!?

I created a free account to manage some projects my team is working on, and I intentionally did not join the existing Company groups because we are doing internal process management that is temporary and does not involve any other teams. We did not want or need a paid account for this temporary work, so I declined to join existing teams that are doing unrelated work.
As I used it, I was really excited about this tool, and was considering how to expand our use of Miro to a more permanent and long-term use with a bunch of our work.

I logged in today to find that my account has been co-opted by corporate, and has now been rolled into the corporate account as a “free” (essentially read-only) without my consent and without my knowledge. I can no longer edit, share, or manage any of the work I created!!!

Not only is this frustrating to log in and find that somehow my work is now inaccessible, but this also seems like a wild security issue! Essentially, I now need to treat this work as if it’s public on the internet, if it’s this easy to just pull someone else’s account into a larger organization account, which significantly limits what I feel comfortable using Miro for.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any workarounds or ways to undo this!??

@kpackard While I will not be able to comment on what consent a corporation needs to secure accounts created by its domain users, or the security risks of having content exist in accounts outside of their control, the only workaround I can think of is to create a Miro account using an e email address under a domain to which they have no control over, e.g., gmail.com (unless corporate is Google, then consider using Hotmail). However, keep in mind that this may violate corporate policy.
