Implement vertical separation line in Kanban column (doing vs done)

It would be very nice to have the usual ‘vertical’ separation on any Kanban column, that would help to implement the `pull process` in *Kanban*, where the usual process, is to *pull* a card from the *left* `Done` column when ready to handle it (i.e move it to the next *right* column).

Unless this is done, we are obliged to add an other column to ‘each’ stage in order to handle this *buffer* zone properly, this is PITA ;-(

@Vincent Nonnenmacher -

there’s a number of enhancements which could be made including adding in a place to capture explicit processes for entry/exit criteria, WIP limits and so on…

I agree, but one very nice feature (and differentiator) is the fact that

as a wall Kanban, we can still add, notes, decorations and the whole ‘out of lane’

informations, in a manner very similar to our actual Kanban.

So remote workers can share at the same ‘impedance’ level.

However, the ‘pull’ effects is totally missing from the ‘droplet zones’ and I guess the only way

to circumvent this is to ‘draw’ the same ‘Kanban’ that exists on the wall, loosing advantages like urls, notes, labels…. and external API links.

NOTE : reading the book from Microsoft expert Eric Brechner “Agile Project Management with Kanban” (and the videos on youtube), he explains that he asked the Microsoft team that implemented their ‘project management software’ didn’t think about this.

Along with the fact that sometimes, it is usefull to have such column, to place card in sort of ‘hold for specialised help’ (a ‘watching’ column between ‘doing’ and ‘done’.

For my team, just to be able to style the lines that separate the kanban board lanes would be a huge help.
We have rules that set how we pull cards from one lane to the next, some of those rules are bigger/of more importance than others, and if I could just make that line Red or Blue, we can answer the question “What do we need to move this card passed the Blue line? ”, and it would be easier to visualize.
