I am hoping to find a solution that will allow guests on a board to conduct a private individual reflection (e.g in a private frame maybe>). I don’t want these reflections to ever be “revealed” by me as the facilitator. And in the same board, I want participants to be able to publicly/visibly brainstorm and collaborate with each other. Are there any tools or workarounds for this?
Private individual reflection within a shared board

Hi
That’s a great question! While Miro doesn’t currently offer fully private frames within a shared board, there are a couple of workarounds you can consider:
-
With Private mode, participants can add sticky notes privately during a brainstorming phase. These notes remain hidden until they choose to share them. However, once shared, they become visible to everyone.
-
You can create separate, private boards where participants reflect individually, then copy over insights they feel comfortable sharing into the shared board.
-
You can create a "Private Reflection" frame where each participant is assigned a specific area, and you lock it so only they can edit. While this doesn’t make it truly invisible to others, you can ask participants to use comments instead of text objects, which are less prominent and only visible when clicked.
If privacy is crucial, you might consider using an external survey or note-taking tool (e.g., Google Forms, Typeform, or Notion) for personal reflections and only bringing shared insights into Miro.
Let me know if you need additional help!
