I love the new timeline feature. However, when the project plan becomes more extensive, the tool (status quo) quickly reaches its limits.

Yes, also be able to add a new group immediately under an existing one, rather than having all new groups be added at the bottom (which is particularly frustrating since we can’t move the groups yet!)
