The new Timeline component is very promising, but here are some additional features needed:

  • Ability to show quarters and months in addition to days and weeks; timeline becomes hard to view when you have more than a few months
  • Ability to add milestones
  • Additional colors
  • Increase font size of item labels
  • Ability to drag Jira cards onto the timeline
  • Ability to show dependencies between items
  • Ability to quickly edit dates for items (right now you can only drag and drop, which is tedious

From my point of view, it is particularly important that the entries in the swimlanes of the timeline are either Miro cards or can be converted into Miro cards respectively (see above) Jira cards. This ensures a consistent usage paradigm: Tasks in Miro are (and remain) cards. In its current form, the timeline runs the risk of becoming and remaining proprietary.

In our company, for example, everything is managed via Jira cards, so the timeline is not suitable for us.

In a nutshell: conversion to Jira cards = super important

Note: what about tables? Is there a similar paradigm shift? I haven't checked that yet.

Best regards and many thanks

Jan
