Good morning Miro Community,

today I was wondering if you consider integrating Microsoft Planner with the Miro Planner?

I know this topic was already discussed 3 years ago and it seems to have lost traction with your development team.

I would like to push this topic once again to the desk as I believe this is something that will provide great value to many organizations that are working with Microsoft 365.

Just to give you an example: With our innovation team we are planning backlogs with several teams pre-development in Microsoft Planner. JIRA on the other hand is best used during development. But as Miro is a lot focused on the planning phase of products I believe an integration of other backlog planning tools like MS Planner would be a great addition to your product.

I am looking forward to hear the voices of the community about this feature request and also the opinion from your development team at Miro :).

Have a great week ahead,
Sebastian

Hi @SEBASTIAN JACOBSEN,

Thank you for submitting this idea! We appreciate your feedback, and our team will review it. This suggestion is now open for votes and comments.

For those just joining the conversation, if you believe this feature would be helpful for your workflow or business, please take a moment to vote and share your use case. This will help our team better understand the demand and prioritize accordingly.

Thanks again for helping improve Miro!

We would very much love to show a Kanban board on the Miro board that is synchronized with Microsoft Planner tasks.

During routine work people would use Planner to handle tasks. During meetings and workshops we would have everything on the Miro board.

Hey, we also believe it would be amazing to have this tool. We use MIRO timelines/GANTT-Chart as a high-level capacity and project overview tool. We use the microsoft planner as a concrete to-do and task management tool. It would be amazing to create for example milestones on Miro, that can directly be connected or managed to specific planner-tasks or vice-versa.

We would love that feature. I was just researching how to do this and found this community. It would definitely boost Miro usage in my organization as folks are using Planner like crazy and asking for 3rd party apps for these functions. But we already own Miro so… would be nice :)

Yes, we use multiply Planners in smal teams. We are looking for the opportunity, to see cards from 5-6 planners in one Miro Kanban board, to brainstorm about priorities and follow-up where the tasks stucks.

Please add MS Planner support, it's just not doable to have multiple TO-DO tools. Let’s keep Miro as a  simple but powerful collaboration board, rather than adding in-house solutions that you can’t get a big MS-based organization to use.

PLEASE! It makes no sense for our company to use Miro solutions for task management, we don't use Jira either. But we work with M365 so MS Planner integration would be a huge support from Miro for corporate work.

Hi All

I share your frustration with the lack of a direct integration between Miro and MS Planner.  Our integration with Microsoft tools are generally very robust, but Planner for the moment is not supported.  I understand the frustration this causes and know it is not ideal for the many Miro customers who use the full Microsoft stack in their organization.

In the meantime, I’ll make a suggestion you can try.  Like most things in life there's a workaround. Not especially clean or straightforward, but here's what I would do if MS Planner needs to be the destination for action items or tasks exported from Miro.

1 - Create the Action Items in Miro as Miro cards (if you have sticky notes, these convert easily into Miro Cards by selecting them and using the floating tool bar to "Switch Type" from Sticky to Card).  Using Miro cards will give you access to multiple fields (they are structured data) while Sticky notes are much more limited in the number of fields and data you can transfer.

2 - Select all the action item Miro cards you want to move to MS Planner. Again, using the floating tool bar, select the ellipse (three dots on the right side of the tool bar) and then "Export as a CSV". This will create a CSV file with each of the Card fields in a column.

3 - Open the CSV in Excel, check the data (you might need to add a column header, or format the date fields into something MS Planner will ingest).

4 - MS Planner doesn't have a direct import data feature (see, it's not just us!), but I found this help article with a workaround using Power Automate, which is a part of the MS stack and you might have access to. If you follow the instructions in this article (and there are other explanatory videos out there that can walk you through the process), you will be able to import the data from the Excel/CSV file into MS Planner. If you are reasonably tech-savvy you should be able to do this fairly easily.

I wasn't kidding when I said it's a workaround - sorry and wish we had a better immediate solution. Miro has lots of integrations with other lightweight project/task management tools like Notion, Asana, Coda, etc but just not MS Planner. Yet.

I hope this helps - let me know how it goes and if you get it to work or find a better solution. There is a lot of talent in this channel and it’s possible others have a better solution.  Good luck!
