Export Org Chart out of Miro

I was able to create an “Org Chart” in Miro by importing a CSV file, thanks to the App “Org chart (BETA)”

I want this (Miro) to be the default tool we use to track people, but all other tools we have in the company work based on CSV files.

When I try to “Export to CSV(excel)” the Org Chart I get the error:

error

I think this is the only feature that is needed to have the perfect tool.

Thanks

Did you ever resolve this? I am trying to do the same and I am getting the same error.

I have the same message when I try to export the org chart.

Hi @Ezequiel Moglia and everyone who commented on this thread,

According to our product team, exporting org charts is currently not supported.

I’ll convert your post back to a wishlist request. Please feel free to continue sharing your use cases, as it will help guide our product team in prioritizing this feature. For anyone else coming across this post, don’t forget to upvote and leave a comment on how this feature could benefit you!

To stay updated on any changes in Miro, you can visit Miro's changelog.

Thanks for your engagement!

Hi Eca

this is a much needed feature. Management uses the org chart in Miro as starting point to make changes in the org. Those changes are done manually in Miro because it is a collaborative work.

Once the new structure is complete, it needs to be updated on a regular basis and to do so we need to be able to export the modified org chart in CSV otherwise it is again  lot of manual work.

Is there a link where we can follow the status of this request?

Hi @Laura Chinellato

Thank you for sharing how critical the CSV export feature is for your workflow. I understand how manual updates can be time-consuming, especially when tracking organizational changes collaboratively in Miro.

While there isn’t a specific link to track the status of this request, you can keep an eye on our Miro changelog for any updates or new feature announcements. Additionally, I’ve made sure that your feedback is forwarded to the product team, and it will help guide future improvements.

Feel free to continue sharing any additional insights or needs you have regarding this feature, and thanks again for your input!

The Org widget is awesome for validating our HR data, but we really need the ability export it back to CSV to import changes back into our system.

I would also like to add to this. I do projects for a living that are often based on Org Chart work and there is no tool that I would entrust this process at the moment. I have tried many SaaS solutions online, but neither are good enough to entrust this process. Hence we default to PowerPoint (in this day and age!). Miro is a reliable tool and would made OrgChart a bliss...but!….we definetely need an option to export as contributors will be editing Miro and we need a way to extract it back into .csv to load into HR systems and what not.

I also concur with the idea of an Export to CSV from Org Chart.  Being able to manipulate the data in visual form and then export back to CSV data would be incredibly useful for our use case.

A bump and upvote for this, as not having a native export function really does limit the usability of the org chart tool.

For now, my hack is:

  • Copy org chart as image
  • Paste image into Miro
  • Export image out of Miro
  • Feed the image into Gemini with a prompt to turn the data into a table
  • Download the table into CSV

It works, but takes me five steps and 3-5 mins end to end (plus Gemini costs) for what should be a 1-click task natively supported in Miro.
