Password Protection by Default when sharing public boards

Hey :) The suggestion is to have an option to set any board shared via link (as a Public Board) to require password protection.

Right now we rely on board owners remembering to add a password when sharing, which is prone to human error and share public links with Guest instead of password protected ones.

This could either be:

  • Default password protection required when sharing board through public link for all Miro users + option to skip password
  • Admin toggle option to require password protection for boards shared publicly

What do you think? Would this be helpful to you as well?

Definitely @Carolina Fonseca - I’d suggest that having password protection for shared public boards as a configurable option for a team or company which would either be set to the current default of leaving it up to the board owner or would force the setting of a reasonably strong password.

This setting in the admin panel would be very great to prevent possible data leaks. As mentioned from Carolina, people tend to forget setting a password even if this is a strict guideline from a company, when the system will not force or remember them to do so.
Therefore, I’d like to give a strong vote based on my own personal experiences.
