Hey @Peteroh @Pawel3423 ! 🙂

We recently updated Miro’s color palette as part of our new design language, and we know some of these changes may have been unexpected. The goal was to make colors more accessible, modern, and consistent—but we understand that if your board suddenly looks different, it can take some getting used to.

So what’s changed? Some colors have been adjusted to improve contrast and readability, making boards clearer and easier to work with. Plus, the new palette gives you more flexibility with a wider range of colors to choose from. You can read more about the changes here

We really appreciate your feedback and are keeping a close eye on how this impacts your experience. 🙏

Let us know if something feels off—we’re listening and want to make this transition as smooth as possible!

Personally I appreciate that you’re working towards a more accessible app, but the thing is, the previous  colour palette and layouts were actually way more readable and nice to work with. The new one just are mixed up (purple turned blueish etc), highlighters now grab too much attention and the overall look is just really annoying and cartoonish and everything. Please take this into consideration as my eyes are really struggling to focus and that’s what I really appreciate in Miro - clear and simple (but not oversimplified) design

I totally agree with Irina Folkneresque! Additionally, the lightest sticky notes are now dark and it's hard to read the text on them. The tool is mainly used for writing down daily tasks and unfortunately it's very annoying and inconvenient that you can't see. Please give the option to come back to previous colours.

I personally have no problem with tha pallete change. What I don’t understand is why would all the things (shapes, text colors and pretty much anything) change the color retroactively according to the new pallete?!
All our desings and work that had default colors in the mix are pretty much ruined, unless we painstakingly manually recolor every. single. thing.
What was the thought process behind that?

Sophia Chia . i gotta tell you this is not cool at all, first the new colors looks disgusting and second I have 130 pages need to change all the icon colors back to the original code , such a waste of time .

Hello all!

We’re really sorry for the frustration this has caused. We’ve relayed your feedback to our team, and they’re actively monitoring how these changes are impacting users.

🙏 Appreciate you taking the time to speak up—it helps us understand where improvements are needed. If there’s anything specific we can do to support you in the meantime, let us know.

Same here: change the color palette as much as you like. But, please, do not change all my existing slides!

Just imagine working hours on training slides just to realize from one day to the other that all colors have changed (and that they dont match anymore to the slides presented in the videos for ex). Who could think that this would be ok?

Hi @Peteroh @Pawel3423 @Laurent Prodon @Martin Haustein @Irina Folkneresque!

We’re really sorry for the disruption these color changes have caused and understand how frustrating this has been for you.

We’ve heard your concerns and are rolling out an update to fix this, ensuring your existing content that have used the old default colors from the global color picker stays the way you designed it. This update will take effect within the next few days.

Moving forward, the new default colors on the global color picker will only apply to newly created content, and custom and brand colors will stay the same.

We really appreciate you speaking up—it helps us make Miro better for everyone.💛

Thank you for your patience🙏

Hi @Sophia Chia , thanks a lot for the fix, such a relief 😅
Do you have any visibility on what “within the next few days” means?

Hi @Sophia Chia

Thanks for that message, I hope this takes effect soon. Maybe this is not how you expect people to use Miro but it’s working really well for me as a simplistic graphic design tool which means I don’t have to boot something like Illustrator or Powerpoint to create simple flow charts for inclusion in reports and presentations. By changing colours retroactively this means I can no longer rely on my Miro board for consistent colours throughout e.g. a presentation if I need to update one or more slides. Now you’re aware of it, please keep this in mind for future updates to the colour schemes and colours of objects in existing Miro boards.

Thanks for a great product, I am looking forward to the update shipping.

Kind regards,

Toivo

Hey all!

Just want to let you know that the fix has just been deployed, so your board content should be how it was before now! :)

@Toivo Säwén Thank you for your feedback, great learnings for us as we rollout these types of changes 🙏
