After writing on a sticky note, I often need to tag the sticky note. So I open the tag menu, and since I have a lot of tags, I often need to search for it. However, I often replace the entire text on the sticky note with the term I wanted to search the tags menu. Therefore, any time one opens the tag menu, the focus should move to the field inside the tag menu (“Enter tag...”) to allow fast search within the tags. I’ve noticed I only have this issue if the focus is inside the sticky note right before i open the tag menu. However, if I wasn't typing on the sticky note, before i open the tags menu, the focus does immediately appear inside the “Enter tag...” in the tag menu - i think this should be the behavior every time tag menu is opened. This is especially annoying when I am trying to take notes during a research session, almost every time i need to tag a sticky note, i end up replacing the contents of the sticky note with the search term I wanted to use to locate a tag in the tag menu. I think this is is a simple fix that would hugely improve rapid note-taking.
