I’m really liking the new roadmap template that’s recently been released. My company use the Jira integration’s Jira cards to map timelines etc especially for our PI Planning. However, it appears that only standard Miro cards can be dropped on to the timeline and not the Jira cards. This reduces the usefulness of the new template.

It would be really great if the Jira cards could be dropped onto the timeline soon.

Was it helpful?

Hi @Gareth Whitley

Thanks so much for taking the time to submit share your feedback and insights. We appreciate it!

Should our team have any other questions, they will be sure to follow up.  For those coming across this idea, if you feel it's helpful to have or have additional suggestions, please be sure to vote for it and leave a comment about your use case to help our team scope this request.

Yes, please add this to the new timeline beta feature.

100% you should add this capability. Jira roadmap and timeline tools are so, so terrible, and the add-ons that are decent are exorbitantly expensive.

This would be an absolute game-changer for teams managing complex projects. The ROI on this feature would be immense, as there’s a severe lack of tools that combine visual roadmapping with JIRA's robust tracking capabilities effectively.

Many organizations (ours included) rely on JIRA for task management and Miro for strategic planning, but the gap between these tools creates inefficiencies and tears. By enabling JIRA card integration directly into the timeline, Miro could become the go-to solution for aligning high-level roadmaps with detailed execution plans, eliminating the need for manual updates or third-party workarounds.

Thank you for considering this! Many teams would benefit significantly from this enhancement. 👍

It looks like this integration now works! Thank you so much Miro team

@Andrew Slomka Did you do anything to get it working? I am still not able to add them to template

I was not able to add Jira cards to the new timeline template either @Gp Pradeep .

@Gp Pradeep  the drag-and-drop functionality just worked for me without having to do anything other than that. I can drag-and-drop one or multiple Jira cards from my Miro board onto the Timeline (Beta) tool. Does the Miro card drag-and-drop functionality work for you?

The only other things that come to mind are (1) are you using the correct Timeline tool? There are more than one, (2) what type of account do you have? It may only be available at certain tiers, and (3) if you’re on a company account, is it possible that admins have to enable this functionality?

Lastly, I’m wondering if they just haven’t rolled this out to all users yet because Timeline (Beta) is still in Beta.

@Andrew Slomka
#1 - Yes, I did verify If I was using the right tool
#2,#3 - I am using my company account and AFAIk, there was no option for admin to enable this
But it did start to work for me too now! Thanks for sharing.
