When I copy a portion of the mindmap and paste it into any other application, the ordering is wrong.

For example if I copy this:

When I paste it looks like this:

When I copy/paste the branches, they are listed in this order:

Branch 1 - Item 1
Branch 1
Branch 1 - Item 2
Branch 1 - Item 3
Branch 2 - Item 1
Example map
Branch 2
Branch 2 - Item 2
Branch 2 - Item 3
Branch 3 - Item 1
Branch 3
Branch 2 - Item 2
Branch 2 - Item 3

They should be ordered like this:

Example map
Branch 1
Branch 1 - Item 1
Branch 1 - Item 2
Branch 1 - Item 3
Branch 2
Branch 2 - Item 1
Branch 2 - Item 2
Branch 2 - Item 3
Branch 3
Branch 3 - Item 1
Branch 2 - Item 2
Branch 2 - Item 3

I originally reported this as a bug but it’s apparently a feature that needs to be requested...

Was it helpful?

I believe this is essential! I believe it’s an unintended behavior and a bug. The copy paste should not randomize the order of the elements seen by the user.
If the app says
A > B > C

I expect to see this when I copy paste

A > B > C

hi @Mike Barrett and @berem

While this is not precisely what you are asking for, I think being able to download a mindmap in a structured format might help with this issue. This app might help you out. Good luck!

Thanks for the share, that could be a useful workaround.

All I want to do is cut and paste my thoughts into an email/document, you would have thought that was a sensible use case!
