Select enclosed items only

Currently, when you make a selection, all objects that are within or touch the section boundaries are selected.

If you could add a second option; while making a selection and holding a modifier key, then only the enclosed items are selected.

Was it helpful?

Would love to see this, it slows me down quite a bit to have to unselect things.  The filter option is a great addition but I would still love the option as described by David.  It’s important that this is an option rather than replaces the current functionality.  A hotkey to switch between the two would be great.

FYI: While not requiring the object to be 100% encased, holding the left-click for about 1 second turns the mouse pointer into a crosshairs which results in a more precise selection tool:

To start a precise selection that only includes an object if it covers 90%+ of its surface, long click/press and drag. This is helpful if you need to select objects on top of another background shape.
