In general the programme board is a great idea, but there are a few things which limit it’s utility
- An ability to collapse (or otherwise get greater information density) to the backlog. If I have >5 issues it doesn’t fit on the screen. Would be better to have a wider single line view to get more on the screen
- Ideally the ability to have multiple boards on the same view; I appreciate this might be tricky, but the main problem to solve is visualising the dependencies between boards, so if there were another way of doing that, that could be an option
- Ability to show a story / point count in the header
- Showing (and being able to edit) the sprint goal
- Ability to break down work in a sprint; some thoughts which come to mind
- Potentially an ability to filter the tickets shown. We often have a mixture of roadmap and non-roadmap items, and generally we’re not too interested in the non-roadmap items at a programme level (these are less predictable and therefore not often planned)
- Ability to respect the swim lanes (or add swim lanes) to allow better organisation when there are multiple streams of work. One example might be by epic
- Showing epics on tickets
