When creating new issues in our Jira instance, we have default assignee as Unassigned. That promotes the idea that anyone can create an issue in Jira. The team typically self-assigns after discussing new work, and understand the ask.
When creating issues with Jira Cards, the assignee is defaulted to whomever created the issue unless you search for someone else. It would be great if when the field is left blank in Jira Cards it defaults to unassigned. Even better if unassigned were the default in Jira Cards.
