Zoom Transitions

I’ve found Miro a great tool for drawing system architecture diagrams. However we’re now looking for a way to build a ‘zoomable architecture diagram’ - i.e. a diagram that starts off very high level and enables the user to zoom in and view more detail in specific areas. Kind of like google maps.

This would require the ability to transition on zoom. The idea being, when the zoom level reaches a specified threshold on a given object, the object should expand into a more detailed view (a new frame / set of objects). I’m not sure if tooling exists for this already but it would be great if it were possible in Miro.

Was it helpful?

@Josh F -

While it is not a true zoom in capability, a different approach might be to use Miro’s link capability to link from the top level architecture diagram to drill-down sections which would be represented by detailed content within a number of frames scattered around the board. Each of those frames would have a link-back to the top level architecture diagram.

In case you are not familiar with Miro’s link capability, here’s some info on it: https://help.miro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017572354-Internal-and-external-linking
