Word count information display for selections of objects

When using Miro to brainstorm for writing projects with specific word count constraints, I create sections of text as separate objects and then link them together and move them around on the whiteboard.

I can copy text from selections of objects in Miro into another tool that provides a word count feature, but it would be even more useful if I could get that information directly inside of Miro.

Were I to imagine an interface for this feature, it would be this: in the ‘...’ drop-down menu that appears in the context menu for a selection, a ‘Character & Word Count’ button would be visible if any of the selected objects contain text. Selecting that button would open a popup window that displays character & word count information for the selection. Additionally displaying those statistics for the entire board would be nice if that would not be too much of a computational strain.

Was it helpful?

good tip. very time consuming however for someone doing their postgraduate assessment which must be 3000 words to extract from Miro and then put in a new doc to count words. I hope the MIRO team notes this as a future feature.
