Hi everyone,

I’m working on a project in Miro and I’d like to replicate a guided selection flow (similar to a food ordering app where users pick Step 1 → Step 2 → Step 3).

For example:

  • Step 1: Choose a base (Chicken / Fish)

  • Step 2: Choose a side (Veg I / Veg II)

  • Step 3: Choose a carb (Rice / Potato)

At the end, the user’s choices should be grouped together as one “set” of items on the board.

👉 Is there a recommended way to achieve this in Miro — maybe through templates, interactive widgets, or integrations?
Would love to hear if anyone has tried a similar setup.

Thanks in advance!

Hey @Starbucks Menuprice you could try using frames for this, but there is no “right answer” here :)

For example:

Step 1: Create Your "Menu" of Options

  1. Create a Section for Each Step: Use shapes or text boxes to clearly label your steps: Step 1: Choose a Base, Step 2: Choose a Side, etc.

  2. Represent Each Choice as an Object: For each option (Chicken, Fish, Veg I), use a Miro Card or a Shape with Text. Cards are great because you can add descriptions, tags, or even assignees. For a more visual approach, use images of the items.

  3. Lock the Menu: This is a crucial step! Once your menu items are in place, select all of them, right-click, and choose Lock (or use the shortcut Ctrl+L / Cmd+L). This prevents users from moving the original menu items, forcing them to copy them instead.

Step 2: Create the "Build Zone" or "Plate"

  1. Use Frames: Create a designated area for each user or team to build their set. The best way to do this is with Frames. Create a new frame and title it with the user's name or "My Order."

  2. Provide Clear Instructions: Add a text box inside or next to the frame with simple instructions, like:

    • "1. Find your frame."

    • "2. Hold Alt/Option and drag your choices from the menu into this frame."

    • "3. Group your final items together."
