I submitted a ticket as suggested up thread and just received the following response.

Thank you for reaching out about pasting as a grid. I understand that you can no longer paste Excel cells into a grid. I'd like to give you a brief explanation of the current behavior and suggest the next steps.

Our Product Team has informed us that the functionality has been updated, so now it is only possible to paste the sheet as a table or stickies. That said, I understand your frustration that the feature is not working as expected. Currently, the team is evaluating whether the option to paste as a grid will be re-added or whether any additional features can be added to the Tables to mirror the previous behavior with the Grid functionality.

Since this will be part of a long-term review, we are not able to share an ETA for when or whether those changes will be implemented. Rest assured—the team is closely monitoring requests from other users while reviewing all possibilities to improve how users paste cells to the Miro board.

I'm afraid that at the moment, the only workaround is to manually create the new table in Miro. I definitely understand how cumbersome it must be, but hopefully, we'll get a chance to implement the ability to copy as a Grid soon!

We hope for your kind understanding.

That is a non-answer if I ever saw one.
A lot of text that says literally nothing whatsoever.

Also asking for a fix. There have been quite a few things which seemed to have changed with Miro in recent months. It is not as good as it was. Fine if you want to add more advanced features, but not if the basics doesn’t work anymore.

I’ say You are not taking your users Serious!
We need to paste into grids Right now.
If your team thinks that they need time for deliberations on how to do it more nicely this is up to you in the Background.
Currently the Solution as provided of no sense!
Seperate the Data / Table Import and add a Lister functionality. But keep and restore the Grid Import Functionality please!

I think most users don't even know that such a forum exists, they don't know/want to use it. What's the logic in this? No, there's no logic in it; you can see countless of these, look at a modern car, just overcomplicated problems. It'll just be the usual: "Oooooh, not many people complained!!!", "Nobody told us...", "It'll be better, safer, faster...". Of course, I think that's what they were aiming for, that's how things always start to get messed up. I'll be happy if I don't get banned because I dared to speak up. I hope the AI will do something similar to Miro for me and then it's done. They might not even read it, why would they read it, then those few users will die out and then it's done, new ones will come.

Sent a ticket before about this and am reaching back out as a verdict on if this will be fixed would be appreciated. It continues to add significant time to my workflow for a minor fix. Please fix this soon.

Hi, I have also sent a ticket weeks ago.

Does anyone know when we can expect the old functionality to return? I honestly don’t understand the reasoning behind removing it.

In my workplace we are paying Miro for hundreds of editors, and we had to justify this huge expense. But FigJam is more accommodating in this regard. Now I use FigJam for tables and I just past an image of the table into Miro as a workaround.

The thing is that, I’m growing frustrated, and if this issue is not resolved soon, I will not recommend Miro in the future.

Miro should be prioritizing the needs of its users, and it feels like this problem is being neglected.

Thank you!
It’s fixed now. I can paste in grid.

I just confirmed that its working for me too.  I have the option to paste as table, grid or stickies.  This allows me to resume using my previous process with the Grid.   Thank you Miro team for getting this resolved.

Would love to paste this as a Grid instead of Table (Beta). Is there a way to do this? Any help or workaround would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! Also, I’ve been working on something similar while organizing data for subwaymenu, so any insights would be super helpful!"

Same here, confirming that is working after reading the thread!
The 2 behaviour I expected returned: Not only allows to choose Grid while pasting in an empty space, but it automatically pastes the grid, if a cell inside one is selected 👏🏻

It looks like the ability to paste as a Grid has been restored! 🎉 You should now see the option to paste as a Table, Grid, or Stickies when pasting data.

Thank you to everyone who shared feedback and reached out. We appreciate your patience while the team worked on this! 🚀

Hi @Eca

This is much appreciated 🙏 I love it.

I'm glad that the joint strike led to a result :)
Finally, it can be used again, and in the future, maybe we won't have to be upset again and there won't be any loss of functionality.
I'm also glad that the developers took our request seriously.
Best regards,
Miklos
