Workshop facilitator view of board with instructions hidden from participants

I am setting up a template for Workshops and would like to have a single board that is used by the Facilitator and the participants but where the instruction to lead the various activities are not viewable by the participants, just the facilitator.

Is this possible currently with Miro or do I need to create 2 separate boards?

I have seen other posts on the topic that all end with a post about new features that enable the desired capabilities but I haven’t been able to see how, so I’m posting this in the hopes of getting some instructions on how to achieve the goal.

Thanks!

Was it helpful?

@Erica Wass - The only way I am aware of where this is technically possible* would be to use the Synced copies feature.

With this feature, you could have facilitator instructions in a Doc or Frame on a board that is not accessible by the workshop participants.

For example, on a board that only I can access:

Then I create a synced copy of the Doc on the workshop board, where I can still see the content of the copy:

But the workshop participants would see:

While this would work, the considerations are:

  • You could not edit the content on this board,
  • you still need another board for the original copy,
  • and it could be confusing to the workshop participants to have this “Request access” object on the board.

So, since you need another board already, you’ll likely just want to stick with reading instructions on the other board.

However, if you are using Frames in your workshop, you could explore the reverse where you have all of the workshop frames synced to your facilitator board.

*This would depend on the availability of the Synced copies feature (it may still be in limited beta).
