Transparent boxes showing differently for different users

So I’m collaborating with another user on a board.

We have boxes with colour backgrounds, some with, some without opacity.
We can BOTH create and see the correct colours, i.e. 100% and 50% opacity.
BUT the other person doesn’t see the applied transparency but 100% opacity.
If I colour pick I see 100% even if, on her end it was set to 50%.
To make it really confusing, for some objects it’s fine, for some it isn’t. In some cases we can get this to work when we apply the change multiple times. Note that we can change the underlying colour and the change becomes visible to both of us as expected.
This does not resolve by refreshing the browser window.
Anyone seen this too?

Was it helpful?

Hi @Marcel Britsch,

Thanks for reporting this! I tried replicating the issue on my end, but I wasn’t able to reproduce it. I’ve attached a video showing my test results.

Could you please share the following:

  • Which browsers and devices are you and your collaborator using?
  • Have you tried switching browsers or using the Miro desktop app?
  • Do you notice this happening with specific colors or all transparency settings?

It might also help to clear the cache or test in an incognito window. Let me know what you find, and I’d be happy to help further! 😊

hello
let me try some of this when I have access to my colleague’s PC.

  • Which browsers and devices are you and your collaborator using?
    • machbook pro (both)
    • Chrome (both)
  • Have you tried switching browsers or using the Miro desktop app?
    • actually no - will try
  • Do you notice this happening with specific colors or all transparency settings?
    • multiple colours, multiple transparency settings

It might also help to clear the cache or test in an incognito window.

 - we tried incognito and that didn’t change anything

Tbh, this is really weird, I have used Miro boards extensively over the last years and remember maybe seeing this once before (but I thought it was a freak thing then) and now, seeing it for the second time properly….

Anyways, let me do some digging
thank you
